FASHION + FILM: MIAMI FASHION FILM FESTIVAL SEPT 12-15, 2013

We were more than excited when we ran across the Miami Fashion Film Festival while checking out our Facebook news feed. Presenting the two within the same platform only makes good sense.  Fashion and film have always been happily married. From classic Audrey Hepburn, best known for her signature black cocktail dress in the movie, Breakfast at Tiffany's to Sarah Jessica Parker strutting down New York streets in 5-inch Christian Louboutin's in the comedy-drama series, Sex and the City. Film has proven to be the best runway for designers across the globe.

The geniuses behind the MIAFFF have integrated education, entertainment and art into its offerings. A fashion photo exhibit with Nicolas Stipcianos to a workshop on building your brand through the art of film, hosted by C&I Studios Executive Director, Joshua Miller, creatively intertwine the art of fashion with the business of fashion.  Keeping their finger on the fashion industry's pulse they've scheduled a workshop on fashion blogging. Ginger Harris of ElectricBlogarella.com, will present Fashion Blogging 101, l
earn how to start and sustain a successful fashion blog. With heart in hand and a needle and thread in the other come and learn how to get involved in fashionable giving. We look forward to this year's festival and wish the MIAFFF team many more. Check out their line-up of fashion films.

Pops & Purpose | A Unique Foodie and Fashion Event

There is no doubt it’s summertime here in Sunny Miami Florida.  Tropic breezes, swaying palms and humid days and nights give way to a fresh and unique event format sure to cool your palette for both flavor and fashion. Feverish Pops and CLOAK Apparel, Inc. also known as CLOAK INC are hosting the first in a series of four events entitled, Pops and Purpose.  A collaborative of socially conscious brands eating pops and raising awareness.

On June 15, 2013, Pops & Purpose will launch at the Feverish Pops store located in the Shops at Midtown, 3252 NE 1st Avenue, #120. The event will feature energetic sounds by DJ Davinci, a spoken word performance by Mr. Speak to My Future, Chris Wisdom Ledger, Feverish Pops, Fashion with Purpose and so much more.

The night’s purpose is to raise awareness concerning human trafficking. On May 18, 2013, CLOAK INC launched its latest campaign collection entitled, “I AM”.  The collection is a simple concept that speaks to a complex issue.  Self-identity, self-respect and, love of self can be issues victims of human trafficking face.  As well, traffickers and philanders of the industry often objectify and dehumanize their victims. “I AM is a personal statement of awareness and existence.  It is a declaration that gives way to life,” says Ebonie M. Mukasa, CLOAK INC, CEO and Founder. 20% of the net proceeds from the sale of the “I AM” Campaign Collection will be donated to organizations rescuing and restoring victims of human trafficking.

Feverish Pops and CLOAK INC are a sweet match. Feverish Pops’ mission is to introduce the world to a new way of enjoying frozen desserts while making the world a sweeter place.  The Feverish concept is fun and exciting, “We fuse art, music, social awareness and of course ice cream into vintage carts,” says Chief Popsicle, Felecia Hatcher.  CLOAK INC’s mission is to cover those in need through fashion. “As a fashion brand we create unique, trendy, casual wear in support of social issues,” says Ebonie. Through the use of campaigns, initiatives, print, video, social media, events and forums; CLOAK INC raises awareness and sells their collection pieces to raise funds to donate to non-profit organizations helping those in need.

Pops & Purpose is a platform for the community to meet and interact with social brands. This energetic atmosphere, offers a social opportunity for brands to share their purposes and products with consumers.  “We want these events to build awareness of socially conscious brands, garner public support and create lasting relationships - with pops in hand of course!” says Felecia.
