Mecca aka Grimo is a humble guy with great passion for Haitian culture. His signature statement, "I wasn't born in Haiti, Haiti was born in me," is a testament to his solidarity and love for Haiti. The very busy actor, poet, teacher, activist and mentor was kind enough to donate his time at the Love + Haiti event on April 10th. He performed a spoken word piece where he talked about his experience with growing up Haitian and the social struggles he had to endure in the process. He proudly proclaimed his Haitian roots and invited the audience to participate in a fun crash course in Creole.
